Episode Recap
Sungho cautiously admits that the baby doesn’t have a name. He explains that he’s thought about it a lot but hasn’t found a name that suits the baby quite yet. As the words leave his mouth, Sungho internally prepares himself for Haebom’s nagging about being an irresponsibly parent for not naming his child.
However, Haebom surprises him by simply offering his services. After all, Haebom is older and wiser than Sungho, so their two heads together will certainly be able to come up with a suitable name. Entertained by Haebom’s response, Sungho agrees.
Sungho takes the chance to ask Haebom about the head of the village. He wants to pay his respects and ask about the field he heard came with this house. Haebom reveals that he’s the village head and warns Sungho that farming isn’t as easy as he thinks. Before he continues on nagging Sungho, Haebom offers to teach Sungho how to do a bit of farming. To Haebom, since he’s going to name Sungho’s baby, that means that he’ll become the baby’s godfather, which also means he’s responsible for Sungho too.
Sungho, who’s always been alone his whole life, found the sudden declaration comforting. He accepts Haebom’s help and offers to cook Haebom some breakfast. Unbeknownst to either of them, right outside of the gate a hooded little boy is watching the scene in Sungho’s yard, mumbling about his father under his breath.
My Takeaways
I was surprised by my own reaction to this, but I really didn’t like the fact that Haebom just suddenly started taking photos of Sung Ho’s baby. Sung Ho even has to ask Haebom what he’s doing, and Haebom’s response was so nonchalant.
Like, yes, okay I understand why he’s doing it. Haebom says himself that it’s for inspiration, so he can come up with the baby’s name. But like… I wouldn’t be okay with someone taking pictures of my baby without asking my permission first, no matter whom it is. Might just be me though.
