Childcare Manhwa is a Thing and I’m Enjoying It

I didn't pick up a BL or romance story? What???? Who even am I anymore?!
Broadcast the Buzz:

I don’t know what has come over me, but I decided to pick up not one or two, but FOUR new manhwa. Not only that, but all of them are childcare manhwa, which is a thing, apparently. I’m actually not a stranger to this type of manhwa. Who Made Me a Princess? was one of the first manhwa I ever read, and that was a childcare manhwa. Now that I think about it, I never finished it. It’s over 100 episodes, and I do eventually plan to go back to it, but I kinda lost interest around episode 60 or so.

Anyway, if you don’t know (like I didn’t know), childcare manhwa are stories that revolve around a child protagonist being raised by… well, all four I’ve picked up, the main character (MC) is raised by the supposed villain of the story. Most of them also have an isekai element to them too, and the protagonists are usually aware of their past lives. So the MC is essentially an adult mind in a child’s body. It makes for some interesting reading.

The four I started reading are:

  1. Becoming the Dark Hero’s Daughter
  2. I’m Being Raised by Villains
  3. The Male Lead’s Little Lion Daughter
  4. I Adopted a Villanous Dad

Out of the four, I’m really, really enjoying the first one: Becoming the Dark Hero’s Daughter. I also like I’m Being Raised by Villains, but the other two… I have a sneaking suspicion I’ll lose interest in them, if the stories continue to go in the direction they’re going. You’ll learn more about why once I post those reviews.

The other thing is only two of the four comics have official translations and finished seasons. I believe all of them also originated as web novels, which also don’t have translations. So I’ll be at the mercy of MTL and the internet for a couple of them. I won’t do episode recaps for them (there are just too many), so you’ll see reviews for the four come out in the next few days…. or weeks lol. Depends on whether my real life gets busy or I end up picking up other stories I like more, as I usually do.
