It’s officially the beginning of season three four of Define the Relationship, which means we’re officially in the land of DTR side stories! There’s so much good content coming that I’m excited. There are a few major scenes coming up (in my estimation, probably within the next five episodes) that I can’t wait to see illustrated. What I found interesting, though, is the manhwa usually follows the chapter naming convention of the web novel but didn’t this time. The first side story is titled “One Day,” but the title graphic makes no mention of it. It’s not a big deal, but it’s just a little something I noticed.

Episode Summary

It’s a beautiful sunny morning, and Karlyle and Ash are cozy in bed together. Karlyle is looking especially comfy with the sheets pulled up over his shoulders. When he opens his eyes, he finds Ash’s blue and gray eyes staring back at him, which catches him by surprise and embarrasses him. Honestly, I’d be embarrassed too if I woke up and realized my partner was watching me sleep. But unlike Karlyle, I’m not a cute sleeper. Anyway, Karlyle remarks to himself how despite their being together for a bit now, he just can’t get used to how handsome Ash is.

Same, Karlyle. Same.

Caressing Karlyle’s face with his hand, Ash’s sweet gesture quickly turns mischievous as Ash carefully nudges Karlyle’s lips open with his thumb. Karlyle reflexively sucks on Ash’s finger as it were another part of his body, and Ash continues to persist with his machinations. He doesn’t allow Karlyle to stop, and Karlyle wonders how Ash can be so accommodating with everything else except for when they’re in bed together. Ash withdraws his fingers and snakes his arm around to Karlyle’s backside. It doesn’t take long for Ash to find Karlyle’s spot, so it’s no surprise that Karlyle climaxes quickly. Wanting to repay the favor, Karlyle reaches out to Ash, but Ash pulls back, kisses Karlyle’s hand and tells him he needs to go to work.

Disappointed, Karlyle thinks about how the two of them used to have sex without hesitation, but that no longer seems to be the case since they officially started dating. He nuzzles closer to Ash to hide his worries, burying his face in the nape of Ash’s neck. Sounding slightly defeated… or maybe it’s more of a warning?… Ash tells Karlyle that when he acts this cute, he has a hard time holding back.

Final Thoughts

I know what you’re thinking: wow, this is a really short post. I know, right? This is a DTR episode, and I usually write 20+ paragraphs worth of comments. But this episode is an illustration-heavy episode, if you catch my meaning, so there isn’t much to recap plot-wise.

On a more personal note, you may have noticed some growing pains with Stray Semicolon lately. I’ve migrated over to self-hosting the site, and it’s been a huge learning curve for me. At least the site is up and running again on the original domain, and I’m satisfied with the main layout. Those were the two areas that gave me the biggest headache the past few days. I’m glad to get back to writing; I have a ton of stuff to catch up on!
