RETELLING THE EPISODE

The episode starts with a flashback from a few months ago. Jaekyung is at XY Club, an exclusive club for VIPs, and in walks Choi Heesung. When they greet each other, Heesung jokes that Jaekyung’s newest partner must have run away (which he doesn’t deny) and admits that his latest partner got too clingy, so Heesung dumped him.

Heesung reveals that he’s the type of person to go after someone even if they’re already with someone else. Jaekyung teases him for it, and Heesung reminds Jaekyung that he’s no better since he treats his partners so roughly, they pass out during sex. Each thinks the other is a total scumbag. (And they’re both right.) Then, when two other men walk into the bar, an excited Heesung leaves Jaekyung on his own.

The scene shifts to another flashback, but this time, it’s when Heesung “injured” his back. Heesung admits to his manager that his back isn’t actually sprained. He exaggerated because he wanted a session with Doc Dan. While his manager scolds him, neither of them are aware that Jaekyung has overheard their conversation from around the corner.

Back to current time, Jaekyung and Dan are stuck in heavy traffic. Jaekyung, of course, doesn’t give two fucks about it, but Dan, certainly does. He has the toy Jaekyung brought inserted in him. It’s on and Jaekyung has the controller. Dan’s trying really hard not to climax because he doesn’t want to ruin his pants, but Jaekyung makes it nearly impossible when he turns up the vibration.

Dan reaches his limit and apologizes to Jaekyung, asking him to stop. Surprisingly, Jaekyung does, but it’s only to pull over to a secluded area to finish what the toy started. Then finally, slightly past 10PM, Dan makes it to Heesung’s place, looking a little worse for wear.

EPISODE TAKEAWAYS

Jaekyung’s an asshole. There’s no two ways about it. This should come as a surprise to absolutely no one. I myself forgot that fact for a little bit. The recent episodes of Jaekyung taking a day off showed us a human side of Jaekyung, so I neglected to remember oh yeah, he’s a dick.

I felt so bad for Dan this episode. He didn’t look aroused in the car; he looked like he was in pain. And Jaekyung, being the sadistic motherfucker he is, was relishing in Dan’s discomfort. I hate that Dan felt the need to apologize when he asked Jaekyung to let up on him. Dan literally did nothing wrong. Sure, he made a mistake by accepting the ride, but that definitely doesn’t warrant being tortured.

We’re 30+ episodes in and aside from a few brief moments, Jaekyung hasn’t shown any redeeming qualities, and it’s getting harder to genuinely like the guy. He needs to be knocked off his pedestal and quick… and he probably will be soon. I foresee him losing a match in the near future, which will be a blemish on his perfect record. IMO, he deserves it, needs it even. It’ll help him develop as a person, but I’m not looking forward to how he’s going to make Dan suffer for his losing a match.

Aside from that, I think we can all agree that both Heesung and Jaekyung are terrible people. You have Heesung who goes after whomever he wants until he gets them and then dumps them without a second thought once he’s done. Then you have Jaekyung who treats his partners so poorly, he makes them pass out during sex.

So yeah, both are terrible.

And I guess my questions from last episode were answered. Heesung knows all about Jaekyung’s jinx. He’s totally aware of Jaekyung’s habits and preferences too. So I’m sure he knows what Dan and Jaekyung’s relationship is really all about. It’s going to be really interesting to see how this all plays out. Poor Dan. His life is about to get even harder.
