EPISODE RECAP

Back at Haebom’s Byulbyul Market, three kids are opening a new blind box toy. The kids are from the next town over and come to Haebom’s shop since it’s the only place that carries the specific toys they like. As they leave to go to school, the kids beg the store owner to keep stocking the toys for them, and so Haebom makes a note to include the request on his next purchase order.

In walks a flustered-looking Sung Ho and his half-asleep daughter. Haebom instantly perks up at the sight of the new village resident, but when he sees Sung Ho’s nervous demeanor, he calms the former soldier down and asks him what’s wrong.

The two head back to Sung Ho’s house, and Sung Ho shows Haebom the unknown package on his doorstep. Haebom opens the plastic bag and reveals that it’s a freshly caught chicken, hence the blood. He guesses that it might be a housewarming gift and goes on to explain that the elders don’t really know how to welcome new neighbors.

Sung Ho notices a little note that falls out of Haebom’s pocket. It’s a flyer from the welfare center advertising a playdate club. Moms with kids that haven’t started school yet go there often to let their kids play together. Sung Ho admits to wanting to go to events like this and asks Haebom if he would like to go with him. When he turns his head, Sung Ho’s lips brush against Haebom’s face since he was standing right over Sung Ho’s shoulder.

Haebom dismisses the accidental kiss off as no big deal and offers to take Sung Ho to the center. While Sung Ho goes inside to get ready, Haebom waits, thinking to himself that maybe Sung Ho kissed him because he likes him.

MY TAKEAWAYS

Look at how Sung Ho is covering his daughter’s face. This is too cute. Not only that, but the baby ends up peeking in between his fingers anyway. I love the details this webtoon adds when it comes to the baby.

Surprisingly, even though she’s shown to have far advanced intellect for a baby her age, I’m not mad at it. There have been multiple scenes where it’s insinuated she understands whats going on between the adults around her. Usually, I dislike whenever stories make children much too smart for their age, but I’m giving Our Sunny Days a pass. The baby’s too cute and the male leads are adorable. This series really does wear its “Lighthearted” tag proudly.
