Episode Summary

Lee Nok returns to the eclipse ritual after Jaeshin saves him from the fake apparition of his mother. His Majesty is not happy. He tells the crown prince he will speak to him about the day’s events later. As the scene shifts from the ceremony to the crown prince taking a bath later that night, the crown prince thinks to himself how he wasn’t expecting how relieved he was when he had run into Jaeshin. But he instinctively knew that without Jaeshin’s help, Nok wouldn’t have been able to be himself again. He finds it amusing how the one person he had been avoiding was the one person he needed the most.

After his bath, His Highness dismisses his attendants and retires for the night. In his chambers, already waiting for him is Jaeshin. The two soon begin kissing, and Jaeshin encourages the crown prince to kiss him again, like he did earlier today. Embarrassed, Nok goes in for an eyes shut tight, closed-lipped kiss, making Jaeshin chuckle. Well, that was exactly what he did earlier today, but he’s about to show the crown prince how it’s really done.

As Jaeshin slowly undresses Nok, he ponders aloud what he should teach the crown prince next. His Highness seems a little unsure of what Jaeshin means (he’s so innocent, it’s adorable). Jaeshin asks the crown prince if he had ever thought about how to seduce him. Has he ever wondered what it would be like? Jaeshin lays Nok down, proclaiming that he’ll show him exactly how to drive him wild.

Discussion

This one was another rather short episode. Definitely more of a visual episode than one that moves the plot forward. But since it’s The Ghost’s Nocturne, I’m not complaining one bit because any chance I get to enjoy the art in this series is a win.

You know, as far as illustrated characters go, Jaeshin is quite the looker. That was apparent from the very beginning of the series. I think anyone, regardless of orientation, would agree. In this episode, I don’t know what it was specifically, but he turned up the dial on his charm and looks to a thousand. During the scene when he was asking Nok if he had ever wondered what it would be like to seduce him, Jaeshin was straight up seducing the reader. Good Lord.

Anyway, the vibe between these two is certainly changing for the better. Just a few episodes ago, Jaeshin was still oblivious as to how to win the crown prince’s heart. I don’t think he realizes just yet, but he’s not even trying anymore because it’s happening naturally. And the events for the eclipse ceremony certainly changed things for Nok. He truly grasps now how much he not only needs Jaeshin for his supernatural abilities, but he also needs Jaeshin just because he wants him. Ah, I love it. This is a slow burn done right.
